Mysterio ate at Eng Kee Chicken Wings @ commonwealth
This unassuming stall in commonwealth which is not very accessible if you want to visit via public transport as it is quite ulu, but the moment you reach, you can see a long queue of local residents queuing for this stall. (Note that Mysterio visited at around 9am to 10am)
Looking at their stall front, they even have lots of poster of being rated the best chicken wings in Singapore. But is it as good as it claims?
On first look, the chicken wings look crispy, with slightly tanned/overcooked. However, once you sink your teeth into it, it is crispy, with the downside that it is slightly overcooked, which might also imply that it might be fried twice to give it that crispy outlook.
As for the noodles, mysterio ordered bee hoon and kway tiao. It is oily and no wow factor to it.
For other ingredients that was bought together with it, nothing too amazing as their main highlight is the fried chicken wings.
Verdict:
Mysterio rate it 3.5/5 stars
Eng Kee Chicken Wings all in all is great, it is able to retain its crispiness as it is most likely double fried. The taste wise is great as well. The location of this stall might be off putting for many as it is not too convenient to go to. Other ingredients that are sold together is quite mediocre, with the bee hoon and kway tiao being too oily.
