Mysterio ate Holland Village XO Fish Head Bee Hoon
Upon reaching this food court, you can definitely recognised the BIG SIGNATURE for XO fish head bee hoon. Its hard to miss, just that coming to this area is not as accessible as Mysterio thought.
Going to patronize this stall on a weekday evening isnt as crowded as Mysterio thought, though it does get more and more crowded later into the night. The stall owner/helper/employee (not too sure about this) are just idling around waiting for orders.
The long awaited food finally arrived with a few large chunks of fried fish. Before tasting it, you will be able to smell the XO.
The fried fish serving is quite generous but the vegetables in the fish soup is minuscule. Mysterio chose the thick been hoon to go with the fish soup.
The noodle is cook relatively well, springy and easy to bite into. Now onto the taste, the smell of XO is definitely there, however, it is not as impact as Mysterio thought. The fish soup is relatively light hearted and savory, definitely will make you keep wanting more.
Another stall that was worth highlighting is this BBQ seafood stall, many patrons actually bought from this stall even though Mysterio didnt get to try it. So maybe you can give it a try?
While waiting for the XO Fish bee hoon, Mysterio decided to give the western food a try.
The Fried Chicken Cutlet is surprising very crispy and tender, the coleslaw is refreshing and pairs well with the deep fried chicken, a worthy food to try for something different.
Verdict:
Mysterio rate it 3.5/5 stars. Though the XO fish soup taste good, it has nothing that will give Mysterio the Uwu effect. The XO taste relatively mild and the fried fish is more on the harder side. The vegetables given is also very very little, quantity of fried fish is okay compare to the price paid.
On the contrary, More customer patronized the western and the BBQ seafood stall. The western is quite good, but will be quite dry after a while. If you are in the area, do give it a try, else, its not worth to go down for it. Address: 19A Dover Cres, Singapore 131019
