Mysterio ate at He Jia Huan at vision exchange
Vision exchange is usually a office space during the day but when night falls, the area turns into a new limelight. It will be filled and bussing with pub-goer, food and eatery not seen during daylight. He Jia Huan is one of the eatery that is patron by many and always filled to the brim.
Seeing He Jia Huan so fully packed, either the food or the price of food must be good, so lets drive right into it. Mysterio ordered some of the dishes to try out.
Spicy boiled pork slice dish here is definitely the kicker here, one look at the dish and you know that this will give the satisfactory craving needed for spiciness (also the constant toilet visit the next day lmao). Taste wise, the boiled pork wasnt so infused with the mala and spiciness, but a mixed of the sauce is enough to properly alleviate the taste all together. The dish comes with some enoki and black fungus mushroom at the bottom.
This pork skewer has the right mixed of pork fats and seasonings, giving it a sufficient taste to it, however, mysterio would say that this skewer is pretty average/mid at best, nothing too fancy but good enough.
Beef skewer is pretty disappointing here. The meat is quite tough to bite through, BUT it is quite juicy here. Other than the toughness of the meat, the taste once again is average too.
Fried mantou here is just right, not too oily nor is it too hard, perfect balanced dish by itself. The seasonings sprinkled on it alleviates the taste.
Spicy fresh salad dish here is actually not spicy at all, though there are some dried chilli here, it was deceiving, but its on a good note as it provides a refreshing feel to all the dishes that are much more heavy. The soft cartilage of the pork ear give it a crunchy texture to it, while the homemade sauce with the cucumbers give it a very refreshing taste. Definitely go for this to cleanse the Platte after all the spicy mala dishes.
Verdict:
Mysterio rate it 4/5 stars
The spicy boiled pork is definitely worth it for cravings with sufficient spicines and kicker to it, but other dishes like the skewers are a bit of a letdown. The salad is worth trying it you are patronising this stall.
